Children’s book proofs

August 31, 2010

The proof copy of my children’s book arrived this morning. These tiny, funny-coloured photos don’t do it any justice, but it looks awesome. There’s something about a barcode on the back and gloss on the front that makes the whole process seem more real.

I pity the fool…

August 3, 2010

I was asked to create a poster for local band Pity The Fool as part of 10and5’s Serenade Your Walls Exhibition. This is the result. If you’d like an angry, pity-filled B.A. Baracus on your wall – at either A1 or A2, visit http://shop.10and5.com/ and you can order and view the rest of the posters. The prints are great and they’re quite affordable.

Here’s a bearded guy looking at the display.

And someone buying one of my posters. (Or perhaps they’re just thumbing through the stack for some other poster.)

Forest

July 7, 2010

I’ve been experimenting with a look and feel for my second children’s book. Here’s a forest with some shadows.

Soccer Cities

June 7, 2010

Here’s an illustration I did for Qatar Airways inflight magazine – Oryx. It’s a little world tour of a few of the major cities represented at this years world cup. For a better view, click on the image below.

Arctic and Antarctic animals

May 5, 2010

Some potential characters for a potential story I’ve written.

Town

April 14, 2010

Still haven’t quite finished colouring this in. It’s looking better though.

Big tiger

March 29, 2010

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was on TV last night – it had the perfect level ‘interesting-ness’ (or ‘uninteresting-ness’) for me to sit and draw in front of it. I looked up occasionally to see how the special effects were holding up and then continued drawing this enormous tiger.

Animals 2

March 4, 2010

Here’s another Animal Mix I did in front of the TV last night. Looks alright. Click the image to see detail.

Animals

March 2, 2010

I’ve been glued to my computer screen for the last week – using Illustrator to create vector characters for a kids wildlife show. So to take a break, I reverted back to the old pencil and paper. To see it bigger, click on the image.

Tank campaign

A flyer I illustrated for Tank.

And a poster.
