Letter B

November 26, 2008

I’ve been working on a South African alphabet for a little while – the idea came to me while I was preparing for my exhibition in March and so far I’ve done A, B and C. I also thought that perhaps I’d send the idea to some publishers and see what they thought of the idea. If they like it I’ll only have 23 letters left to do.

Pirate

November 21, 2008

I’ve tried my hand at a bit of water-colour painting. It turned out well – but I think I need a bit more practice. The colours scanned in a bit funny, but what can you do?

(I think you all know which part of the story he’s at.)

Head on over to my new website – it’s basically got most of the best stuff from my blog as well as a bunch of other stuff. It’s very simple and quite fun to browse. If you like it, send on the URL.

Also, for the same project I drew this coelacanth. I’ll post the whole thing sometime soon.

Amasi

November 9, 2008

Here’s a little something from a project I’m working on. For those of you who don’t know, ‘amasi’ (also known as ‘maas’) is sour milk. It’s very popular in Xhosa and Zulu culture.
