July 19, 2007The Dog Box
July 17, 2007While I was in London I helped a friend to set up a live music evening at the local pub. The idea was to have these evenings quite regularly so that friends and strangers could come and play their songs for an audience. The owners of the Black Horse were happy to help out and we had some good times with a few pints and some great music. Anyway, my point is that the evening was called The Dog Box and it’s currently being ressurected. I got an email from Huw (the guy in charge) to just doodle a dog to use in emails and such things relating to Dog Box Evenings. I doodled two mediocre dogs before this one came out of my pencil. A dog with pronounced lips is always a winner – remember that at the track next Saturday. The same goes for horses.
The Sheriff
July 16, 2007I thought I’d make a third style – a non-vector one. I was tired of drawing cowboys with six-shooters, so here’s the stinky old sheriff. He’ll be up against the other two in this week’s meeting. Other people I’ll most likely have to draw are: a clown, a soccer player, a mad scientist, an accountant, a mummy, a car salesman… and about ten others. Once I get the go-ahead, I’ll just shut myself in my flat and work ’til I’m done. Or I ’til go mad – whichever comes first.
Vector Cowboys
July 11, 2007I’m putting together a selection of graphic styles for some work I’m doing. They have to be vector, so it’s back to the wonderful world of Freehand.
First up is a very simplified style.
Second in line is Straight-Shooter McGavin.
In next week’s meeting these two chaps will be duelling. I wonder who will win.
Rock, paper, scissors… the new rules.
July 2, 2007I just had this printed A2 on a super fancy colour light-jet printer. It came out really nicely and really expensively. It’s on photopaper.
I think every house needs this poster on a wall in case there’s ever a dispute about the rules of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Cos if there is a dispute about the rules, you can’t Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide who’s right. Think about it. I’m having it block-mounted and I shall hang it in my house. You should do the same.
